In his debut interiors collection, renowned Indian born-British designer Ashish expands his colourful world to include beautifully hand-crafted blankets that celebrate intimacy, humour and sex. Notions synonymous with the designer, who has never shied away from delving into the heights and pitfalls of human emotion, under the showering of a million sequins and overt glamour.
In a knowing clash of references, the collection sees comic-book heroes and Disney princesses juxtaposed against erotic slogans and spiritual affirmations. Whilst more intimate and tender moments are explored with the inclusion of poetry penned by Ashish himself.
Ashish’s level of intimacy and personal connection is literally woven into the collection, with each blanket being made entirely from recycled vintage fabrics, hand-sewed in India. Undeniably presenting the collection as a poignant homage to the designer’s native home.
‘The Delights of Lovers’ collection will form an installation at 5 Carlos Place, W1 between the 4th – 2oth July.
