It is a fact that there are more homophobes than there are gays in the world and while the reasons for believing what they believe may differ, one thing is certain: they all hate gays. So here are the 5 reasons that make homophobes stupid:
- You think it is against God’s law
Assuming that that is the case, so what? When you try to impose your religious views on others you fail to see that you manifest intolerance towards freedom of thought most of all. If a homosexual does not adhere to your religion, it should not be forced to obey to its principles. That makes you a tyrant. And stupid.
- You think it is disgusting
So people should stop do something that you deem disgusting because you are the most entitled to speak for others. And because the idea of a free society is based on…I don’t know, not appear disgusting to others? Everybody has some habits that could appear awkward to others. The beauty of freedom is that everybody is allowed to do whatever he pleases in regard to his sexuality. As long as it keeps it decent towards public areas and it does not involve anything outside the law.
- Scapegoat
Blaming gays for society’s problems is a special kind of stupidity. Like saying they are responsible for destroying the institution of marriage. I am not sure how can that happen. I have tried to understand and I have failed miserably. How can two adults of the same sex marrying can affect you marrying one of the opposite sex? This is beyond stupidity. But then again, it could be worse. There are areas around the globe where gays are being blamed for drought. So actually we are good.
- You think they influence children
You also think that this means we will have an increase in the number of gays in the world because of that. Which will lead to the extinction of humankind in the future, because people will stop banging the opposite sex. This would actually be a legitimate point of view. If homosexuality was plague. You constantly have the impression that being gay is a choice, like an artistic expression. Like pop music. This makes you a double idiot.
- You hate gays when being one yourself
Not all homophobes are hidden gays, but a good portion of them are. Especially the most resilient and aggressive ones. You have the impression that denying your true self will somehow make you less gay. Just like going against black men while being black would help you modify your color. It does not work that way. So, aside from being gay, you are also stupid. Deeply stupid.
