Love must be one of the most powerful forces of nature. It is what helps us making bounds, forming families and lighten up our lives and everybody seeks for it, whether gay or not. Whatever the case may be, love is anything but simple and there have been a lot of theories trying to explain this apparently simple phenomenon that has serious implications in our lives.

It took years to break down the essentials that converge in bringing to life this potent feeling and this is how the love’s chemistry was unveiled. Now, psychology agrees that there are certain factors that are common to almost everybody, which are responsible for the feeling of love and here they are:

Contrary to what you may think, appearance is at the bottom of the list. As psychologists suggest, appearance may have no role in developing feelings of love and long lasting affection. Most, in not all of us, seek intellectual fulfillment and we will always chose personality over looks. Now different people look for different traits and what you look for is strongly related to your own personality. So what you are looking for is compatibility.

4. That special something

Call it x-factor, call it whatever you like, this is something that makes the one you love to stand out from the crowd. Whether you love his eyes, his smile, or any other physical characteristic, his sense of humor or the way he compliments you, there is always something that immediately draws your attention.

How many times have you seen in movies that 2 characters hate each other in the beginning and end up falling in love with one another. This seems to be simply because a bit of a lone time together may actually cause you to bond and get to know each other better. Remember that next time when you end up in constant arguing with a guy. It is a fact that we are usually drawn by those who seem mysterious to us in some way or another. This concept will appear when you will find that person that will fill all your sentimental gaps and is the one that check “affirmative” to all your desired personality traits. That is when you will have the feeling that the other person completes you and you will soon be incapable of imagining a world where your lover would not exist. It is one of the stronger connections between two human beings and it is what makes us love someone even long after they are gone.
