Sense8

Show creator Lana Wachowski dropped the bombshell live on the internet…

Earlier this year, Netflix gave Sense8 fans everywhere a lifeline by commissioning a two-hour special to conclude the sprawling sci-fi series, after they initially cancelled it at the end of the second series.

The show’s creators, actors and fans were over the moon that the decision was reversed, and work for the big finale was put into action.

Or so we thought…

During a Facebook Live chat with Lana and actors Brian J. Smith (Will Gorski), Toby Onwumere (Capheus “Van Damn” Onyango), and Max Riemelt (Wolfgang Bogdanow), it was revealed that actually a whole third series is being cooked up.

Confirming the news in the third person, Lana said: “She’s writing because she believes so much in the fans — that they’re going to go out and actually create so many more fans — Lana’s actually going ahead and writing the entire Season 3.”

We’re sure that’s music to the fans’ ears, but whether it will be made for Netflix has yet to be confirmed.

What we do know is that we still have the two-hour special to look forward to next year, which is expected to conclude that season 2 cliffhanger.
