Illinois anti-gay Congressman Aaron Schock spent some time this week playing commando with several hunky West Point cadets.
“Challenged by cadets at West Point to complete the Combat Water Survival Lab which is their toughest requirement for graduation,” Schock wrote on Instagram yesterday. He added:
Earlier this year, journalist Itay Hod, dropped a sledgehammer on Republican congressman Aaron Schock’s ‘gay’ glass closet. Schock, who represents Illinois’ 18th congressional district, has consistently voted anti-gay and stands firmly against same-sex marriage. Hod, who is openly gay, posted a note on Facebook wondering why no journalist has ever outed Schock, who he claims in his note has been caught by a journalist in the shower with his male roommate as well as in gay bars by TMZ. He writes in part:
Are we still not allowed to out him?
Schock’s Instagram page has remained private since the begging of the year, after blogger John Aravosis published a column titled The 7 Gayest Aaron Schock Instagram Posts Of 2013. The post also revealed Shock followed openly-gay Olympic diver Tom Daley, which he quickly unfollowed after the report had gone viral.
How anti-gay is Aaron Shock? Here are a few highlights below:
Schock opposed the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.
Schock opposes the repeal of DOMA.
Schock is against gay marriage; and
Schock is for the Federal Marriage Amendment, which would add language to the US Constitution banning gay marriage and likely striking down every gay rights law and ordinance in the country.
The Human Rights Campaign gave Shock a 0% rating:

Challenged by cadets at West Point to complete the Combat Water Survival Lab which is their toughest requirement for graduation. The associated press describes it as “Perhaps the mother of all swim tests – Survival Gate # 4 – can be found at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Weighed down by heavy equipment, cadets must perform several tasks in a pool amid simulated battlefield chaos. Artificial fog, rain, and deafening noise are pumped in, darkness is punctuated only by strobe lights, and the water is churned by artificial wave makers.” #almostdrowned #goarmy
