Tens 0f thousands of people gathered this weekend (13-15 October) to celebrate Atlanta Pride 2017.

Now in its 47th year, the inaugural event started just one year after the famous Stonewall Riots in New York City in 1969.

It’s now grown into a colorful display of love, diversity and acceptance.

Special guest star Rita Ora performed during Atlanta Pride celebrations on Saturday (14 October) evening.

She wrote on Instagram: ‘Watching the sunset and performing for you… I wouldn’t have it any other way. And I got told we pulled the biggest crowd!

‘I love you!! keep inspiring the world! And me! Thank you for making me feel it’s ok to be fabulous like you all are!! Happy pride my sweets!

The parade kicked off on Sunday from the Civic Center MARTA Station, ending at Piedmont Park.

Pride in Atlanta today was great! In case you didn't know, I'm pansexual! Basically, I have no preference in people based on a specific gender identity. I'm interested in whomever I find an attraction to. On September 18, I told my brothers and my dad and it was honestly the best decision. They were so supportive and loving and it was the most liberating feeling. I'm so lucky to have such an amazing support system. My friends had already known for a while, but I didn't want to come to pride without being out to my family. I wasn't originally planning on making some huge coming out post because honestly, the people I'm around 24/7 already know and who I'm interested in is only my business, but I figured some of you may be questioning because of my shirt lol. So, here ya go! I'm the queer one of my family ?? Here's to all my other queer folk out there ??? #happypride #pansexual #atlantapride
