Our favourite hotel in Cambridge, University Arms (well, they wiped the proverbial lino with any competition when they swung open their very lovely emerald green doors last summer) has put together a swish package to celebrate the city’s very first Pride, which leashes itself upon Jesus Green on Saturday, 8 June.

Organised by the Pink Festival Group, Cambridge’s inaugural Pride will take to the River Cam (when in Cambridge, etc.) with a flotilla of community-driven punts (youth, people of colour, seniors, trans), making it the UK’s first ever river Pride parade, with the rainbow-coloured hullaballoo disembarking at Jesus Green, a slice of bucolic loveliness right by Jesus College. The man himself would surely approve.

And University Arms has created its ‘Pride Package’ to mark the occasion; a two-night stay (7 and 8 June) with breakfast, homemade rainbow cake waiting in your room, a Bloomsbury Boozer each (it’s a cocktail. A boozy one) each, down in the gorgeous Parker’s Tavern Bar, and late check-out. They know us so well.

The hotel will also be donating a portion of profits from every Bloomsbury Boozer sold over Pride to The Kite Trust, a charity that works to promote the health, well-being and inclusion of LBGTQ youth across Cambridgeshire.
