As we sashay in to Pride season, we’re looking at the best new releases from our favourite brands and the charities they’re helping to support throughout Pride month. Here’s the new releases this week…
DKNY have just launched a capsule collection celebrating PRIDE in partnership with NY based charity Hetrick-Martin Institute.
HMI are celebrating their 40th anniversary and, while LGBTQ rights and protections have come a long way since they were founded, there are still so many young people who vitally need the services they offer. Whether it’s a hot meal, a shower, counselling from a mental health professional or just a fun place to meet friends and work on their art, the services HMI offer make a profound difference in the lives of underserved LGBTQ young people.
Hetrick-Martin, America’s oldest and largest LGBTQ youth services organisation is integrated in the collection’s campaign and digital content and a donation has been made by DKNY to HMI to support its pioneering mission.
The Levi’s Pride campaign celebrates this power of community and how it can both unify and liberate with a collection featuring the rainbow in pride of place (see what they did there?).
“Levi’s has a long-standing history of doing right by its employees and fans and supporting the LGBTQ+ community. We were the first Fortune 500 company to offer same sex partner benefits back in 1992 and our support has been unwavering since then. We are proud to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community each year with our Pride collection and by participating in Pride events across the globe.”— Jen Sey, SVP & CMO, Global Brands at Levi Strauss & Co.
Along with this year’s Pride collection, Levi’s will also continue its longstanding support of the LGBTQ community by partnering with OutRight Action International, an organisation that works to advance the rights of LGBTQ people all over the world.
Dr. Martens are standing tall with the LGBTQ community this year with the arrival of a one-off pair of 1460 boots. With PRIDE stamped in letters across the back strap and the infamous docs silhouette, the style takes a bold step full of pride. We’re ready to serve these with nothing but a pair of short shorts and a smile (and maybe a flag for dramatic effect).
The brand will be continuing their support by making a donation to AKT, an LGBTQ youth homelessness charity with every purchase.
Introducing the Calvin Klein Pride capsule, a celebration of confidence, self-expression and inclusivity.
A capsule of classics in a kaleidoscope of colours with everything from underwear (jocks and boxers, hey hun) to the cutest hoodies, slides and pride printed denim.
Embody the aesthetic of Pride with the Calvin Klein denim jacket, complete with an iconic rainbow-coloured finish. Alternatively the Pride hoodies come in modern patchwork styles that radiate colour from all angles. For styles that combine vibrant colouring with modern silhouettes, look no further than the collection of men’s Pride clothing – in support of LGBTQ equality, Calvin Klein has made a donation to the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
