Outsports will celebrate its 20th anniversary next month with a special celebration party at Outsports Pride, which coincides with LA Pride.

The celebration will take place at sunset on June 7, from 7 p.m. to 9:30, on the beautiful rooftop at the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood, overlooking the cities of West Hollywood and Los Angeles. Outsports was founded in Los Angeles and has been based in the city ever since.

The event is designed to honor and thank the many athletes, coaches, executives and members of the media who have helped make Outsports a cornerstone of the LGBTQ sports movement. Various voices and faces of LGBTQ people in sports will be highlighted at the event.

Jim Buzinski and Cyd Zeigler first began publishing Outsports.com in 1999. Over the last two decades the site has transformed from mostly a pro-sports-fan site for gay men to the publication of record for LGBTQ issues in sports. In that time Outsports has published the coming-out stories of over 700 people in sports, and this year it will hold its fourth annual Outsports Pride event, which brings together LGBTQ people in sports from around the world.

Invited guests for Outsports’ 20th Anniversary Celebration include members of the media, professional athletes, government officials and longtime Outsports supporters, as well as attendees of this year’s Outsports Pride weekend.

You can join us at the celebration by registering for Outsports Pride. The weekend features speakers, panels, social events, and even a field day at Dodger Stadium. Inquiries should be directed to Cyd Zeigler at cydzeiglerjr@gmail.com.
