Alabama Republican party official calls LGBTQ people ‘freaking queers’
In an inflammatory public Facebook post, Phil Benson — Republican treasurer of Mobile County, Alabama — called the LGBTQ community “freaking queers” and later told the media, “ gay people are offensive to me.” He has not apologized for his comments.
Benson left the comment on a county Republican Party Facebook page. It has since been deleted by the page’s moderator.

Republican Rep. Mike Hill thinks it’d be funny to kill all gay people
Homophobic Florida Representative Mike Hill recently laughed when a constituent suggested he introduce legislation condemning gay people to death.
The Pensacola News Journal reports:
A citizen comments: “In 1 Corinthians, it says that a man who has an affair with another man will be put to death.”
Hill’s response?
“It says that in the Old Testament, too.”
Another attendee asks, “Can you introduce legislation?”
