Award-winning band The xx has celebrated same-sex love in its new music video.

The various same-sex couples featured in the video for Say Something Loving are seen kissing, embracing and dancing.

The group, who won the Mercury Prize for their debut album, xx, includes LGBT members Romy Madley Croft – who got engaged earlier this year – and Oliver Sim.

On its Facebook page, the group’s members wrote that for their latest release, they wanted “to celebrate our hometown and revisit some of the places that remind us of our friendship, when we were growing up.”

The video for the song on the band’s third album, I See You, is set in south London, near where the group will start its residency tonight during the Night + Day festival it curates.

The xx has featured same-sex love in its work before, having included a gay kiss in its video for On Hold.

And it has been a vocal supporter of LGBT rights for years, having voiced its disgust in 2013 with its music being used in an advert by a Croatian organisation against same-sex marriage.
