HIV activist Jack Mackenroth has launched a new social media campaign to help raise 1 million dollars to stop the HIV/AIDS epidemic and help find a cure.

Hashtag campaign #WeAreAllClean features guys taking selfies dyring hot shower to help combat the stigma associated with the disease. The hashtag is a response to the phrasing of the question “Are you clean?” which implies that if a sexual partner is HIV positive, he or she is “dirty.” The campaign, launched by Jack Mackenroth, aims to change the language we associate with the disease & moreover raise money for New York’s Housing Works, an organization working to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic in New York City.

The challenge has three steps:

1) take a shower selfie

2) post the image to social media and tag three other people

3) then change your profile picture to the shower pic for World AIDS Day.
