Donald Trump and his son told anti-LGBTQ extremist Roy Moore to not run for Senate, saying that his “ego” is less important than Make America Great Again [MAGA].
Before his failed 2017 bid for U.S. Senator from Alabama, Moore was best known for losing his job as chief justice of the state supreme court twice due to his refusal to follow the law instead of his personal Christian conservative views.
During the campaign, though, several women accused him of making inappropriate advances and sexually assaulting them, some while they were minors and Moore was an adult.
He ultimately lost that race to Democrat Doug Jones.
That was a special election and Jones’s term is over next year. Moore said on Twitter that he “will beat Doug Jones” if he runs next year.
He knows that if I run I will beat Doug Jones.

Trump said that, although he has “NOTHING against Roy Moore,” but he doesn’t want him to run because he believes he’ll lose.
Republicans cannot allow themselves to again lose the Senate seat in the Great State of Alabama. This time it will be for Six Years, not just Two. I have NOTHING against Roy Moore, and unlike many other Republican leaders, wanted him to win. But he didn’t, and probably won’t…..

Donald Trump, Jr., was harsher. He said that not only would Moore lose, but that even considering running for Senate showed that Moore put his ego ahead of MAGA.

Trump and Trump, Jr., don’t appear to disagree with Moore on anything, despite his extremism and alleged history of violence, perhaps because they’re extremists themselves and Trump has faced his own accusations of sexual assault.
