After this year’s success, Digital Pride will come back next year to spread Pride across the globe.

Gay Star News’ online festival for the worldwide LGBTI community will return from Monday 27 April to Sunday 3 May 2020.

Next year will mark Digital Pride’s fifth birthday. The annual festival unites gay, bisexual and trans people around the world, including those in countries where it is impossible or difficult to celebrate Pride with a parade or public event.

The festival brings joy and protest to countries where being LGBTI is frowned upon or even illegal.

‘Digital Pride is a unique event in the Pride season. In 2019, we chose to tackle loneliness and isolation and inspired people to reach out to someone they thought might need someone to talk to,’ Tris Reid-Smith, Editor-in-Chief of Gay Star News and co-founder of the event, said.

Video screens in New York’s Times Square and London’s Canary Wharf have been playing 2019’s from 29 April to 5 May. This has relayed a moment of  to over 3million onlookers.

Digital Pride () will return in 2020 with a special theme that will be announced later this year.

For the first time in 2019, the global festival had a theme. For next year, the new theme will enable even more people to get involved. But meanwhile, GSN won’t forget about fighting isolation.

‘Digital Pride’s spirit lives on. Watch the videos, read the content, listen to the podcasts. We’ll promise to keep on talking about loneliness and isolation and how we can fix it,’ also said Reid-Smith.

‘And you can make a promise to yourself to reach out to someone, not just in Digital Pride week, but every week.’
