Here's a list of 7 best lesbian movies that you'll never forget!

I am proud to say that I have seen almost all the lesbian movies, and it’s not an exaggeration. I know that everyone has different taste, but when it comes to movies, a good story needs a good background.

You have probably read a lot of lists looking for the perfect lesbian movie, but sometimes the plot is misleading. The plot is important because the story unfolds around it, but each movie has a certain feel, and that is special about the ones in this list. They all tell great stories in a memorable scenery. Here’s a list of 7 best lesbian movies that you’ll never forget!

“Aimee & Jaguar”

Aimee & Jaguar is the best lesbian story on screen. It is based on the lives of Felice and Lily during World War II. Felice is a Jewish woman who tries to hide from the Gestapo, and Lily is a mother and the wife of a Nazi officer. While her husband is away at war, Lily finds the love her husband never showed in the arms of Felice.

It is a deep story about love, war and passion.

“Desert Hearts”

Desert Hearts is among the first lesbian movies, shot in 1985. The story takes place in Nevada in the ’50s, when Professor Vivian Bell travels to a ranch in Reno waiting for her divorce. There she meets Cay Rivvers, the daughter of the ranch-owner, a free-spirited woman who will seduce Vivian.

The movie tells a story about insecurity, attraction and romance.

“Fire”

This movie has generated protests in India because it’s the first Indian movie that displays same-sex love. Radha and Sita are both married and part of a big family (Sita’s husband is Radha’s brother and they live in the same house). The two women find themselves trapped in a world they do not belong and find the passion and love in each other. Everyone is shocked when they find out about them, but they do not let love go away when they finally found it.

“But I’m a Cheerleader”

But I’m a Cheerleader is a mix of comedy, drama and wit. Don’t be fooled by the title and the synopsis of the movie. It is actually a great one.

Everything happens in a “rehab camp” for teenagers who manifest homosexual tendencies. It’s a satirical romantic comedy film about a teenager pushed into a “rehab camp” to “cure” her lesbianism, but instead it is there where she really figures out her sexuality and falls in love.

“Carol”

You have probably already heard about Carol, a 2015 lesbian movie that is popular among the wide audience. I haven’t seen it yet but I watched the trailers and it looks awesome.

“Todd Haynes has turned Patricia Highsmith’s novel of lesbian love in Fifties New York into an exceptionally beautiful film, with a career-best performance from Cate Blanchett.” Tim Robey from Telegraph.

“My Summer of Love”

I don’t know if you’ll see this title in many lists, but this movie is a romantic journey through a summer vacation. A working-class tomboy and a sophisticated spoilt girl explore each other’s worlds.

“My Summer of Love is freely adapted from a novel by Helen Cross, and is a tale of romantic and erotic subversion with Jeanette Winterson’s Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit in its DNA.” (Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian)

The Kids Are Alright explores the happenings in a family with same-sex parents. Annette Bening and Julianne Moore play Nic and Jules, a lesbian couple from LA with two biological children. The children have the same father that will appear in their lives and bring some controversy.
