President Donald Trump on Wednesday took to Twitter at 1:30 a.m. in London to call actress Bette Midler a “washed up psycho.”

The commander-in-chief interrupted his state visit to the U.K. to unleash an unhinged rant against Midler after she shared a quote attributed to Trump that he didn’t say.

Midler has since apologized for sharing the fake quote.

“Washed up psycho Bette Midler was forced to apologize for a statement she attributed to me that turned out to be totally fabricated by her in order to make ‘your great president’ look really bad,” Trump tweeted. “She got caught, just like the fake news media gets caught. A sick scammer!”

Two hours before Trump’s middle-of-the-night attack from London, the actress had a message of her own for the president.

“Trump said he was greeted by thousands in the UK, but they were actually thousands of protesters. How does he always hear the opposite of the truth?” the actress wondered.

“Donald, if you’re reading this you should not slam your dick in a door!” Midler counseled.

According to the Washington Post, 75,000 people were estimated to have attended demonstrations in London protesting his visit on Tuesday.

Trump dismissed the Post report at a press conference earlier on Tuesday, claiming that the protests targeting his visit to the country are “fake news.”

The president also said that he has seen “thousands of people” come out in support of his three-day visit and only a “small protest” on Tuesday.
