An entrepreneur in India is helping homosexuals get married through the way of arranged marriages.
Urvi Shah created the International Marriage Bureau for Gays & Lesbians in 2015 and since then has helped 21 couples in India find long-term relationships and marriage.
With same-sex activities considered illegal in India, the international service aims to provide couples with a way to “Get hitched without a hitch.”
According to a study conducted of 600 people by TrulyMadly.com found that 69% of marriages are arranged.
With the difficulty to find love in the LGBT+ community in the Asian country, the services provide “a revolutionary arranged marriage system designed exclusively for gay men and women.
“We are the leading progressive personal matchmaking service, with a unique focus on same sex matches that result in marriage.”
On their website, CEO and founder Urvi explained: “I am committed to the cause of matching the potential gay partners with their potential like- minded partners and assure our clients that we have an awesome pool of potential gay partners from around the world to be matched.
“I feel honored to work on this matchmaking process. Get hitched without a hitch is true for all our clients.”
Hopefully, this is a step in the right direction for India to re-decriminalise same-sex activities as they did in 2009, but it was revoked in 2013 with 95% of people supporting the decriminalisation of same-sex relations.
