Being gay is complicated and sometimes the road to happiness can be arduous: discrimination, family issues, coming out, etc. But once you establish you are gay, and you are awesome, then people will see the real you, not the person frustrated about being gay.
So be proud, because being gay makes you a better human being! Let’s explore five of the things that make gays better than the others!
- Gays are the best bosses
Usually, bosses are not the kind of people we like, on the contrary. If there’s someone we like the least, it’s our boss. But not if he’s gay! A study lead by USC business-school professor Kirk Snyder demonstrated this. “Gay executives tend to look at how each individual brings unique abilities, and they see their job as figuring out how best to take advantage of those skills,“ he says.
“Gay people are constantly having to dodge and weave and assess how and where they’re going as they grow up,“ Snyder added. “And that manifests itself as three huge skills: adaptability, intuitive communications, and creative problem-solving.“
Employers confirmed that they are more relaxed around their gay bosses because they understand their problems, they are not stiff and they are expansive.
2. They give the best advice
Gay people tend to be more empathetic than others, and they have a way of understanding even those things they haven’t experienced. They are detail oriented, because they have spent a lot of time analyzing life, problems, society, relationships. They know what women want and they understand men’s problems.
3. Gays are fun
OK, this doesn’t mean they are always partying and dancing. But usually they are cheerful, they like to joke and they enjoy life to the fullest.
If you are having a bad day, calling your gay friend might brighten the horizon, yet, don’t forget to give back. They have bad days too.
4. Gay men are sensitive and understanding
There’s always this straight thing about how men don’t understand women, and women don’t understand men. But a gay man understands both men and women.
Of course, this doesn’t apply to every individual, but there is a genetic difference between men and women. Well, gay people are expansive and most of them know about both gender’s “secrets,” no wonder they are the best when it comes to advice.
5. Gay parents are the best parents
This is science proved! Researchers at the University of Melbourne lead a study that concluded gay parents are the best parents. The study revealed that gay parents are more committed, “same-sex couples tend to be more motivated, more committed than heterosexual parents on average, because they chose to be parents,” a psychologist at Clark University explains. She also stated that gay couples don’t become parents “by accident” like the 50% of straight couples, so they take their roles more seriously.
Gay parents do not put labels: men at the office and women in the kitchen.
Another study revealed that children raised by a gay couple are more “open-minded and emphatic” than children with straight parents.
