Actress Angelica Ross is on a hot streak of late.
The departing Pose star just left the show with a powerful sending off to her and her character. And it appears, she’s moving on to another Ryan Murphy show in the ‘80s, namely American Horror Story: 1984.
“Though she will always be our Candy, and our show suffers this incredible loss, I am elated that the world will get much more Angelica,” said Pose and AHS creator Murphy via Twitter. “She is joining the American Horror Story family in another unforgettable role. Congrats Angelica for making history, leaping from #PoseFX to #AHS1984. Welcome to the #AHS family!”
Ross has now joined Gus Kenworthy and Emma Roberts for the upcoming series. They are the only three actors to be announced for the project so far, but the season is set to debut this September.
Angelica Ross’s star in the public eye has been on a steady rise for several years now. She first gained recognition for being the founder of TransTech Social Enterprises, a non-profit organization focused on training and incorporating transgender people into the tech industry. The company gained praise from tech experts, LGBTQ organizations, and the Obama Administration.
Then, Angelica Ross turned her attention to the acting world. Her first major acting experience was in the Emmy-nominated web series Her Story. In it, she played trans rights lawyer Paige who struggled with maintaining her human rights law firm and dealing with a new man in her life.
Ross then worked on several other jobs such as a voice-over gig in Danger & Eggs, a reoccurring role in Claws, and a cameo in Transparent. Ross then made her next major role in Pose, in which she played as a regular. And now, she’s moving on to her next big gig.
We look forward to seeing what this rising star does next, and we’ll be rooting for her every step of the way.
