Christopher Ciccone
Being a member of the gay community, Christopher Ciccone’s declaration seems at least surprising and it is not flattering for the LGBTQ members.

The Kentucky clerk may still be in jail, but the story is far from over. As you may know, she was incarcerated for contempt to the Supreme Court last Thursday, after she publicly refused to issue marriage licenses to gay couples. A lot of people came out and let their opinion be heard, either supporting or accusing Davis and now she found a helping hand in the most unlikely of places: Madonna’s gay brother Christopher Ciccone.

He stepped out and stated his opinion on his Facebook account, saying that: “The county clerk in Kentucky deserves about as much support as you would give her is she was a Muslim woman who, in insisted on covering her face and refused not only gay marriage licenses, but also divorce, accusations of rape and driving a car without your man’s approval…perspective is everything…this woman is a civil servant, she is required to follow federal law…but why should she…when DOJ and other civil authorities don’t follow federal law when they choose not to.”

His public statement infuriated fans everywhere and the large majority of them attacked him and completely disagreed with his opinion. Christopher said: “Once again, the gay community feels the need to be sore winners. Is it so difficult to allow this woman her religion?” forgetting that having a right to a religion, or to various personal beliefs, does not entitle you to enforce them on others. Or the fact that Davis, being a public worker and obeying the American Constitution, willingly refused to admit her obligations and even declared that the only law she follows is God’s law.

Christopher Ciccone discovered his gay sexual orientation since he was in high school. His sister, Madonna, took him to a gay bar, which was a world that he had never seen before. “I didn’t know what it was. I didn’t know how I was different from other people I just knew that I was different. But as far as discovering it, I discovered that myself.” he said in an interview in 2012 for PinkTVFrance.

His relationship to Madonna had its ups and downs, with him even blaming her for revealing his sexual preferences in 1991, in an interview for The Advocate, without prior consulting him.
