This past Tuesday, the world got to meet the newest Mr. Gay Handsome Nepal.
The annual Mr. Gay Handsome Nepal competition saw 16 contestants, all trained by Ms. Nepal, battle it out in several different categories like talent and Q&A in order to find one who would win the title.
The pageant, in its third year since 2013, is organized by the Blue Diamond Society and focused on handsome gay men who also act as social activists fighting for gay rights in Nepal.
Despite Nepal being considered one of the most LGBTQ-friendly countries in South Asia, gay men are still struggling for equality at work, at home, and in the eyes of the law.
And who was the winner of the 2017 version of this competition? His name is Manindra Singh. Not only did Singh get the title, but he also got a 50,000 rupees (about $500) prize.
