Some of Mariah Carey‘s fans weren’t happy about Lil Nas X breaking her Billboard Hot 100 record.
His song “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus surpassed her and Boyz II Men‘s record for the longest-running number one single in Billboard Hot 100 history on Monday, July 29. Their track “One Sweet Day” spent sixteen weeks atop the chart in 1995 and 1996 while “OTR” just broke theirs with seventeen weeks.

Lil Nas X is one week away from breaking a record that began almost 24 years ago in December 1995.
