DJ Karsten Sollors brings his popular sounds to the annual Black & Blue Ball on Monday night, May 27 to officially wrap up IML festivities. Held at the prestigious House of Blue and starting at 9 p.m., the Black & Blue Ball is a legendary event, produced by Matthew Harvat and his team from CircuitMOM Productions.
Sollors has quite the weekend planned by the time the Black & Blue Ball begins – and ends at 4 a.m.
“I’m just on my way back from Toronto where I played at Bunker/Fly2.0; it was an amazing night and I’m supercharged,” Sollors said. “I have a lot of new music to share, stuff that will keep the dance floor going all weekend. I will be playing five consecutive shows over the course of five days and will make sure that each set is special, unique, soulful and explosive.”
Sollors’ sound is house, tech house and some melodic. He brings “soulful aspects, driving funk-inspired grooves, lots of old school vocal samples layered over top.”
After IML:
“I continue to tour. The weekend after IML I will be playing Friday in Seattle at Kremwerk, and then Gorgomish after-hours in Vancouver on the Saturday/Sunday morning. The weekend after that I’m back in Chicago for Spring Awakening Music Festival, then I fly down to Miami to play for Roger Sanchez at his Undr The Radr Residency at Barter Wynwood. Then I headed back to Toronto to play Resist with DJ Abel at Noir with Prism Events, the next day back to Chicago for some Pride Fest events, including a set at the new house music Pride Fest stage. I’ll be finishing off the month at Spybar, and then in July I’ll be touring in Central America.
“It’s gonna be a wild ride!”
