The postal survey that will help decide the fate of marriage equality in Australia underway, with the results being announced on November 15.
And a number of celebrities have been vocal in their support for same-sex marriage Down Under. Below, we list 11 of the biggest names encouraging Australians to vote “Yes.”
Hugh Jackman
The Wolverine star is the latest celebrity to announce he’s voting “yes” in the poll, tweeting that he and his wife “believe all Australians deserve to be treated equally under the law.”
Chris Hemsworth
The Australian actor put out a message ahead of the deadline to register for the vote last month, urging citizens to vote for equality. “Dear open-minded, free-speaking, laid-back, life-loving Aussies,” he said. “Marriage is about love and commitment and, in a country based on equal citizenship, it should be available to everyone! Vote now for marriage equality.”
Kylie Minogue
The pop star’s former fiancé, Joshua Sasse, announced that the couple wouldn’t wed until same-sex marriage was legal Down Under. But after they split, Minogue reaffirmed her support for same-sex marriage, asking, “Can we please just do it already?”
Macklemore
The rapper is performing at this weekend’s halftime show at the National Rugby League final in Sydney, and conservatives like former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott are furious that he plans to perform his marriage-equality anthem “Same Love.”
Liam Hemsworth
Following in his brother’s footsteps, the youngest Hemsworth recently came out in support of marriage quality in an Instagram post. “I personally do not believe that same-sex marriage should come down to a vote,” he wrote. “I believe it’s a human right to be able to marry the person you love regardless of gender.”
Margot Robbie
Actress Margot Robbie posted an Instagram photo with the caption “Love is love” and a link that told her fellow Aussies living overseas where they could register to vote.
Nicole Kidman
“I believe in allowing people who love each other to share their lives together and to honor it,” Kidman said while visit the U.K. talk show The Victoria Derbyshire Show. “I really believe we should stay out of people’s business, I just love when people love each other and want that to be acknowledged.”
Ruby Rose
The Orange Is The New Black actress told Cosmopolitan that same-sex marriage is more about equal rights than the act of getting married. “When you don’t have equal rights, it trickles down to kids who think, ’My aunt’s gay so she can’t get married,’ or ’I’m weird because I feel the same way.’ So it’s important to break down that barrier.”
Troye Sivan
The openly gay pop star posted an Instagram message this week that called out the “No” campaign for spreading lies. “This is not a vote on LGBTQI education in schools…This is not a vote on forcing religious bodies to perform same-sex weddings,” he wrote. “This is literally just a vote on us being able to go and get a nice little civil marriage just like everyone else. Because we love just like everyone else. Please, Australia.”
Rose Byrne
“I am pro-gay marriage and I think it’s ridiculous people can’t marry who they want to marry in Australia in this day and age,” Byrne said in a statement to The Daily Mail.

In August, the lesbian talk show host tweeted a link for voter registration with the note, “Australia, I love you. It’s time for marriage equality. Make sure you’re enrolled to vote right now.”
