‘I’m going to walk in with a f**king machete and slaughter every single one of the gay bastards’
Police arrested a teenager after he threatened to go into a British pub with a machete and kill gay people at a Pride event.
The teenager, who cannot be named, posted a photo of the machete he bought for £19.99 ($25.40 €22.70), as well as his intentions to use it at the New Empire pub in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria on Friday night (23 June)
He wrote: ‘I’m going to walk in with a fucking machete and slaughter every single one of the gay bastards.
‘I’ve had enough,’ he continued. ‘I don’t want to live in a gay world and I sure as hell don’t want my children living in one. What happened to our traditional qualities? They’re fucking ruined.
‘I don’t care if I die, I’m fighting for what I believe in and that is the future of my country, my folk and my race,’ he wrote.
Police were alerted to the threat and Superintendent Mark Pannone responded to the arrest.
‘Cumbria Police’s top priority is always to keep people safe,’ he said. ‘There is now no threat to anyone or any specific group in the south Cumbria area.’
The manager of the pub told PinkNews: ‘[We] decided we wouldn’t let it beat us.
‘We asked customers in the pub if they wanted to stay or leave but they all said no. We felt safe as armed police were parked outside. We had loads of phone calls and messages of support but obviously, some people stayed away.
‘We’re very proud to support the LGBTI community and will not be deterred by any of this,’ he said.
The police also issued a statement on the arrest of the teenager:
‘As proceedings are now active with the arrest of a 19-year-old man, we have removed the original posts.’
