According to many sources, the gunman at the massacre in gay nightclub Pulse, was gay. His ex-wife, Sitora Yusufiy was interviewed and when asked if he was gay, she paused and answered: “I don’t know.”
“He did feel very strongly about homosexuality”
‘When we had gotten married, he confessed to me about his past – that was recent at that time – and that he very much enjoyed going to clubs and the nightlife.
‘So, I feel like it’s a side of him or a part of him that he lived but probably didn’t want everybody to know about.
‘He never personally or physically made any indication while we were together, of that, but he did feel very strongly about homosexuality.’
According to his ex wife Omar Mateen was ‘mentally unstable’ and ‘disturbed.’
She met Omar Mateen online and they got married in 2009. Their marriage ended after 4 months because Mateen became violent.
In the beginning he was a normal being who cared about family, loved to joke, loved to have fun,’ she said.
‘A few months after we were married I saw his instability, I saw that he was bipolar and get mad out of nowhere. That’s when I started worrying about my safety.
‘After a few months he started abusing my physically, very often, and not allowing me to speak to my family, keeping me hostage from them.
‘I tried to see the good in him, even then, but my family was very tuned in to what I was going through and decided to visit me and rescue me from that situation.’
Mateen was a regular at gay clubs and would meet men on gay hookup apps
Many people declared that they met Mateen in gay bars, and what is supposed to be a terrorist attack, now looks like a an act of a disturbed man denying his sexuality.
An ex-classmate of his confirmed that Omar asked him to go out and even pursue a relationship.
‘We went to a few gay bars with him, and I was not out at the time, so I declined his offer,’ he said.
‘He just wanted to fit in and no one liked him,’ he said. ‘He was always socially awkward.’
Those who were regulars at Pulse said that they saw Mateen at Pulse drinking alcohol and dancing with men.
