Character becoming more comfortable with his sexuality
Closeted gay MMA fighter Nate Kulina appears to be getting more comfortable with his sexuality in the new season of the DirectTV drama Kingdom.
Played by Nick Jonas, Nate shared a sweet kiss with the new man in his life (Jonathan Howard) in last week’s third season premiere.
At the end of last season, Nate came out to his older brother Jay (Jonathan Tucker) who told him: ‘Listen to me when I tell you that nothing changes between us – I swear to God.’
The brother then added: ‘I always knew you were gay, you got a lot of gay qualities. You’re gentle, you smell delightful, you dress well. If you turn our house into a Palm Springs pool fiesta, I’m moving out.’
The third season of Kingdom will be comprised of 10 episodes and it is the show’s last year.
Although Jonas is straight in real life. he said last year that he technically can’t say that he hasn’t had sex with another man.
‘On Kingdom I have a sex scene with a guy. It is always this thing have I, has Nick? No. But it’s my lips, it’s my hands, it’s my body, even if I’m playing a character. So technically I have done that, so I wouldn’t say I haven’t, because that would be lying.
‘But as me, Nick, I am very open about who I am and that I have nothing to prove. I know what I am, I’ve been honest about that.’
