Have you ever thought about the numbers of straight people who have had gay sex in their lives at least once. You will be surprised to know that a significant amount of straight people in America experienced gay sex. Recently the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have published the results of their investigation. And according to their analysis “among women and men who reported themselves as heterosexual or straight… 12.6% of women and 2.8% of men” have had “same-sex sexual contact”. Hah, pretty high rates, aren’t they?
This investigating took into consideration the “sexual behavior, sexual attraction, and sexual orientation among women and men aged 18–44 in the United States”. This data was received from the 2011–2013 National Survey of Family Growth and about 9,175 people all over the country took part in this survey.
The study concluded that “sexual attraction and sexual orientation correlate closely but not completely with reports of sexual behaviour”. It means that straight guy or girl who you spend night with might be straight.
Among those people who identify themselves as gay or bisexual, 89.7 % of women and 67.9 % of men said that they have had “opposite-sex sexual contact”.
If we take all participants of this survey into consideration (straight, gay and bisexual), three times as many women (17.4%) experienced any same-sex contact in their lifetime compared with men (6.2 %).
We should also tell that 1.3 percent of women and 1.9 % of men admitted that they were “homosexual, gay, or lesbian”, 5.5 % of women and 2 % of men said they were bisexual and only 0.9 % of women and 1 % of men said they “don’t really know” or “refused” to answer such provocative questions.
