The Obamas’ immediate post-inauguration plans have finally been announced and they involve sunshine, swimming and a few relaxing days with a pair of close gay friends.
Following Trump’s swearing-in Friday, the Obama family will set off for the West Coast to vacation at the Palm Springs home of their longtime pals, U.S. ambassador to Spain James Costos and his husband Michael Smith, the interior designer for the White House since 2008.
The couple live in a palatial home spread over eight acres in the Thunderbird Heights gated community in Rancho Mirage. This will be the fifth time the Obama clan has stayed with the couple.
The outgoing First Family helicopter from D.C. to Andrews Air Force Base, where they’ll hop on a 2:45 plane and arrive in California by late afternoon.
