The British openly gay actor is about to become a father himself…
But ahead of this life-changing moment, Hollyoaks’ Kieron Richardson will appear in a one-off documentary exploring parenting in the LGBT+ community.
“It’s an honour to be a part of this very exciting documentary, and also the significance of its place in marking the 50th anniversary of such a hugely important milestone in LGBTQIA history,” Kieron said.
“As an expectant father myself I am fascinated to learn about other people’s experiences and also to hear their insight and perspectives on all the issues LGBTQIA parents face.
“As part of the Channel 4 family, I cannot wait to go on this journey with the dream team that is All 4 & Burning Bright.”
On his journey, he will experience first-hand parenting from the parents and children living in LGBT+ communities, and he will discover more about the challenges faced in surrogacy and modern parenting and just how rewarding the experience is.
Executive Producer Seamus Murphy-Mitchell at Burning Bright Productions added: “The notion of parenthood had changed so much in fifty years, and Burning Bright is very proud to be working with Kieron to tell the story of what a family is in 2017.”
The one-off 30-minute documentary will be produced by Burning Bright Productions where it will air exclusively on Channel 4’s free on demand channel All 4.
It will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in England and Wales, which was passed on July 27 1967.
