Saturday Night is definitely not alright for high-fiving Elton while he’s trying to play.
Elton John stormed off stage during his Las Vegas residency after fans got too carried away while he performed.
The pop legend, 70, was playing at his Vegas residency at Caesar’s Palace on Friday night (2 March).
Elton regularly invites fans on stage to gather round the piano while he plays 1973 hit Saturday Night’s All Right For Fighting.
Elton John bans fans from stage during future performances
But on Friday, fans took it to far when they refused to stop trying to touch him.
Several fans were getting in Elton’s way as he belted out the track.
But the Yellow Brick Road star could be seen mouthing ‘fuck off’ several times as they got too close.
Elton then stood up and stormed off stage, before the band played its final notes and the lights dimmed.
Shortly after, he returned and told the crowd: ‘No more coming on stage during Saturday Night. You fucked it up!’
Fan completely ‘disrupted performance’
In a statement issued the next day, Elton said:
‘Last night in Las Vegas a fan put his hands on the piano keys while I was playing and continued to do so even after I asked him to stop.
‘He then proceeded to reach over the piano and try to take pictures, completely disrupting the performance.
‘I bring fans onstage every evening when we play Saturday Night in the set, it is always a lovely part of the show where I get to meet them, shake their hands and have them right there with me while I play.’
He added: ‘They have always been very courteous to the fact we are in the middle of playing a song live.
‘This guy was rude, disruptive and had no care or respect for our show and so I let him know how I felt, then left the stage until they had removed him,’ he posted to Instagram.
The 70-year-old icon revealed earlier this year that his upcoming Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour will be his last.
