Love won! The president of America, Barack Obama, called the decision of Supreme Court concerning same – sex marriage “a victory for America”.
The US Supreme Court on Friday 26th, June 2015 has put an end to the long-term question of the admissibility of same sex marriages: the highest court in the United States made a decision that the Constitution guarantees same sex couples the right to marry. Thus, the court lifted the ban on gay marriage in 14 states, where it has remained.
The US President, Barack Obama said:
“This decision is a victory for gay and lesbian couples who’ve been fighting for their basic civil rights. This is a victory for their children, their families will now be recognized along with all,” said Barack Obama in his special speech. “This decision – a victory for America. This decision affirms what millions of Americans already believe in their hearts: when all Americans are treated as equal, we are all more free.”
