Pulse survivor Chris Brodman, 34, has died, just three months after the mass shooting in Orlando, News 6 reports. The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed his death on Tuesday. Friends had been posting about his death since as early as Sunday.
Authorities say they responded to reports of an unconscious man at a private home in the Tampa area at about 1:50 a.m. Sunday morning. The cause and manner of death are still under investigation. They added that his body showed no signs of physical violence.
News 6 conducted an interview with Brodman in June, in which he talked about the night of the shooting.
“Last call. We went out to the patio to have a cigarette, and we were out there when the shots started to be fired,” said Brodman. “I said, ‘Run. Just run, run, run.’ And we all just ran out the bar.”
The news station also recorded Brodman receiving a Pulse tribute tattoo.
“It’s unfortunate this had to happen to someone that is just so sweet and nice and didn’t deserve it, like anybody else,” said fellow Pulse survivor Orlando Torres.
