Robbie Rogers and Gus Kenworthy made a special appearance on The Real O’Neals this week.
The professional footballer and the Olympic freeskier, two of the most prominent out gay sportsmen in the world, appear in the locker room to give a pep talk to gay teen Kenny, played by Noah Galvin.
Kenny is doubting whether he can compete in his high school wrestling team, fearing that his sexuality will hold him back or that people will judge him, but the two sportsmen help give him the confidence he needs.
Gus states: “Being gay has never stopped me from strapping on skis and dropping into a half pipe.”
Robbie adds: “And it didn’t stop me from becoming one of the first openly gay athletes in a major league sport.”

The Real O’Neals airs Tuesday 6 December at 9pm ET on ABC in the US.
