One third of young people identify as gay or bisexual, new study finds
A third of young people identify as gay or bisexual, according to a new poll.
The study, conducted by Ipsos Mori for the BBC, found that only 66% of 16 to 22-year-olds identified as exclusively heterosexual.
14% said they were “mostly attracted to the opposite sex”, suggesting some level of bisexuality or sexual fluidity, while 9% said the were “equally attracted to both sexes”.

Record numbers of young people are coming out
More young people than ever before now identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual, data shows.
The news comes from the Office for National Statistics, which asked young people about their sexual identity as part of its Annual Population Survey.
According to the ONS, 3.3% of 16 to 24-year-olds identified themselves as lesbian, gay or bisexual in 2015, up from 2.8% in 2014.
