We made a list with 7 LGBT celebrity couples who give us hope and strength. These couples show to the whole world their love, and prove to have stable relationships.
Matt Bomer and Simon Halls
Matt Bomer married Simon Halls in 2011, a year earlier before his coming out. Together they have three sons: six-year-old twins and an eight-year-old. Bomer came out in 2012 when receiving an award at the Desert AIDS Project’s Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards in Palm Springs. His speech was his way of coming out.
“I’d really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry,” the star said. “Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment. God bless you.”
Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor
Holland Taylor and Sarah Paulson started dating last year and the relationship became serious.
“It’s the most wonderful, extraordinary thing that could have ever possibly happened in my life,” Taylor said on WNYC podcast.
Holland Taylor, 72, revealed that she discussed marriage with Paulson, 42.”She’s mentioned it because just from a spiritual point of view, from a heart point of view, as a — as a — as a deed that has a very rich symbolic gesture to it, it has its attraction. But it’s been a very casual conversation at this point,” she explained.
Elton John and David Furnish
This couple was the first to enter an early civil partnership. That happened in 2005 and last year the livelong couple celebrated ten years of love and being together.
“Today, we are happier than ever – and want to thank fans and friends for supporting us with such open hearts and joyful spirit.
We also want to shine a light on all the less privileged and less advanced parts of the world, where LGBT people are criminalized and discriminated against”, the big star of music said.
Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka
Neil talked about how their relationship started 12 years ago:
“I initially fell for David harder than he fell for me,” Neil Patrick Harris revealed. “I was in love with him before he was comfortable saying it, and I think that speaks to our past experiences. I remember saying, ‘I think I love you,’ and he was like, ‘That’s really nice,’ which is not necessarily what you want to hear. But I appreciated his honesty in not jumping the gun and saying something because he felt obliged to.”
Now they are a beautiful family with children!
Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black
Tom Daley is an Olympic diver and Lance Black is a famous writer in Hollywood who has won an Oscar for his brilliant work. The pair got engaged in 2015 after 2 years of dating. Daley, 21, posted a video on YouTube where he came out but at that time he mentioned he also liked women. Later he identified as gay. The relationship with Dustin Lance Black is his first serious relationship.
“I’ve never really had a serious relationship to talk about,” Daley said. “Now I kind of feel ready to talk about my relationships.
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi
In 2001, Ellen and Portia met through mutual friends, but there was not love at first sight, somehow only for Portia. “I ran into Ellen at a photo shoot and she took my breath away. That had never happened to me in my life, where I saw somebody and [experienced] all of those things you hear about in songs and read about in poetry. My knees were weak,” she revealed about their meeting three years later.
They started to officially date in 2004, and in August, 2008 they got married. Since then they are a happy couple, inspiring LGBT people worldwide.
George and Brad Takei
George Takei came out in 2005 but he had been an activist for LGBT right long before. He met his husband Brad at a gay runners club called LA Frontrunners.
Takei explained how he made the first step:“He was the best runner in the club. And also great-looking.
“So I went up to him and I asked him to train me for my first marathon,”he continued.”
The “Star Trek”actor and Brad have been in a relationship for 17 years. They married in 2008.
