David Laport on bringing Ibiza’s Golden Hour to Amsterdam Pride and designing Solange Knowles’...
Following last year’s Hero theme, where Pride revellers donned capes while cruising along Amsterdam’s canals, Laport explores the magic of the party island on Ibiza, the freedom of the Netherlands and the eccentricity of the gay community to bring to life another gilded celebration of Pride by W Hotels.
We spoke to David about how he’ll bring the concept of iubilaeum to this year’s boat parade.
Tell us a little bit about your background and how you first became interested in...
Jean Paul Gaultier’s Fashion Freak Show dazzles in London – review
The Fashion Freak Show is quite unlike anything we’ve seen in a long time. More a cabaret revue than a straightforward theatrical experience, it’s a sort-of biographical show, offering a handful of snapshots into key moments of Gaultier’s life and career, alongside some comedy sketches, photoshoots, catwalks and party scenes. The dramatic element is paper thin, and it’s wildly indulgent and self-congratulatory, but the multi-talented troupe of performers ensure that it’s also tremendous fun.
Essentially it’s two hours of dancing,...
Jean Paul Gaultier on Fashion Freak Show and why “there’s not one kind of...
“When I stopped ready-to-wear in 2015 and dedicated myself only to haute couture, I thought that I could finally go back to my other love, and that was how Fashion Freak Show came into life. I wanted it to have a story, and which story do I know best? The story of my life.”
With an explosion of glamour, drama and camp, Jean Paul Gaultier: Fashion Freak Show is set to give us the greatest insight into the life and...

Was Melania Trump secretly celebrating Pride at the Fourth of July parade?
Melania Trump has proven such an enigma that people have taken to parsing her wardrobe to determine what she’s thinking. Remember the famous “I really don’t care. Do U?” jacket? The First Lady insisted it was just a coat, not a political statement, an explanation greeted with the same level of skepticism as anything else coming out of the White House.
So now there’s a new question about Mrs. Trump’s latest fashion choice. At the big Fourth of July that...

Bro! Where Did Your Butt Go? The Perils Of Padded Underwear For Men
Amazon Retail Pic-Men’s Padded UnderwearIn this era of Kardsashianism, where big butts can make one the belle of the ball, I understand women’s somewhat obsessive desire to enhance their most high-profile body parts. We’ve become a more body-conscious society overall, with every possibility, from pills and implants to injections – all promising to deliver ass-tronomical results.
However, the quest to fill out jeans like J-Lo has moved beyond women’s objectives in recent years and found its way into the male...
