Image via FX Should We Be Protesting This Invasion Of Identity? By now, I’m sure if you’re a part of the LGBTQ community, the struggle of our transgender brothers and sisters has touched our hearts. Chances are you have personally befriended a transgender person or simply empathize with their journey. Working in the entertainment industry, I’ve seen a growth in transgender representation both in front of and behind the cameras of Hollywood. I’m excited to witness transgender actors in the waiting...

The 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots have passed, and as an integral part of the anniversary and the 50 years leading up to it, I have an inside track and knowledge as to who the players were and how they did their jobs for our community. Two organizations failed our community this year. That failure led to misinformation of our history. Professional organizations should preserve our history, not rewrite it. The worst offender? GLAAD The organization that is supposed to monitor...

A new survey shows that young people’s support for LGBTQ people has dropped for the second consecutive year. The Harris Poll and GLAAD just released the results of their yearly survey in their Accelerating Acceptance report. The survey was conducted this past January and involved 1970 respondents, including 1754 non-LGBTQ respondents. Still not getting it, Logan... If you thought Logan Paul’s response to his latest controversy was uncharacteristically muted, that’s probably because he had his tonsils out two weeks ago. Now back in full swing, the YouTuber’s once again poking the bear following backlash for announcing he was ‘going gay’ for a month in 2019, explaining ‘gay is cool to me’. OK then. He revealed plans for – as he called it – ‘Male-only March’ in a podcast appearance earlier this month. The star addressed...

"Prince & Knight," a kid-friendly title about a noble prince who finds true love in a knight instead of a maiden, is available now. GLAAD has announced its new collaboration with Bonnier Publishing USA to publish inclusive (and adorable) children’s books. Less than half of Americans say they're comfortable with LGBT people Despite increased visibility and awareness, acceptance of LGBT people in America actually decreased in 2017. It’s the first decline since the report was launched in 2014, and is in contrast to studies that have shown...

GLAAD has released its annual report on LGBTQ representation on TV called Where We Are. The report states that in the 2017-2018 tv season, there are 58 out of 901 regular LGBTQ characters on broadcast networks, cable TV, and streaming services. While that 6.4% may seem small, it is actually the highest percentage that GLAAD has ever reported in the 22 years that the organization has been researching this info. Plus, they also counted an addition 28 reoccurring LGBTQ characters. The rise...
