It started as a fun, social media hashtag campaign, #GayUnclesDay, last summer and snowballed. The inaugural Gay Uncles Day took place last August. The idea came from a Florida-based Facebook user, C.J Hatter.
Hatter first suggested designating the second Sunday of August as Gay Uncles Day back in spring 2016. The second Gay Uncles Day will be Sunday 13 August 2017.
‘I have to admit that I was thrilled with the response to the...

Skittles celebrates Pride Month with a nod to the only rainbow that matters
This June, Skittles candies are losing their vibrant colors for a good cause — to celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month.
The colorful candy first gave up its rainbow in 2016, in honor of London Pride, where the company handed out the unique treats from it’s rainbow-less float.
The gesture goes to show that Skittles knows that we didn’t steal the rainbow from God or anyone else, it was ours all along.
“Only one rainbow matters this pride. Give the rainbow, taste the rainbow,”...

The parade went without incident although in the past LGBT marches have faced violent protest from far-right people.
