Israeli Education Minister says gay ‘conversion’ therapy is “possible”
Israel’s new Education Minister, Rafi Peretz, has been condemned by LGBTQ groups, after he told Israel’s Channel 12 TV that gay ‘conversion’ therapy was “possible.”
The so-called therapy, which has been discredited by the NHS and the World Psychiatric Association, refers to any attempt at changing a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity, and often involves techniques like electroshock therapy or prayer.

A police officer in Alabama who resigned amid controversy after mocking the suicide of a gay teen has been rehired just two months later.
Nigel Shelby, a 15-year-old high school student, took his own life in April after having been the target of homophobic bullying.

The Albert Kennedy Trust has commemorated its 30th anniversary with an event held at the Speaker’s House. During the event, attendees heard speeches from ambassadors for the charity, Robyn and Edmond, and another patron Simon Callow.

Pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson will soon begin testing an experimental HIV vaccine in the U.S. and Europe sometime this year, according to Bloomberg News.
