What’s The Most Homophobic Experience You Faced From Teachers In School?
An enlightening Reddit thread asks students for examples of their most homophobic school experiences, and the responses range from chilling to inspiring.
“I remember in the 6th grade my teacher said being gay was disgusting and an abomination,” writes the original poster. “I just want to know how common this is. I’m 21 now but I wonder if it’s still like that in schools or if things are different.”
And in general, yes, things are different — but here and there, little pockets...
“Why I am a homophobic homosexual” – one guy’s confession
My name is Gary I’m 34, I am an entrepreneur, a homosexual and a homophobe.
When people find out I am gay, I often get asked the same question, ‘How long have you been gay for?’ And I wonder, are they asking about when I realised I was attracted to the same sex? Or when I actually came out?
Or, is less delicate than that? Maybe their asking when I decided? Or was I born gay? Can you really be born...

Country Singer Blake Shelton Half-Apologizes For All Those Homophobic Tweets
Contrary to what the name might suggest, Blake Shelton is not a character in a Danielle Steel novel. He is in fact a country music singer, hailing from the part of the country that makes you go, “oh, I know a few people who grew up there before they moved out.”
He is also a hilarious comedian who engages in observational humor about those who really deserve to be taken down a peg: women, gays, and foreigners. Ho ho, at last, it’s about...

Study Shows Homophobic Male College Students Attracted To Gay Imagery
Homophobia is gay, to quote Dan Savage. A study conducted in 1996 found that homophobic men responded favorably downstairs when viewing “male homosexual” “erotic stimuli.” They were shown gay, straight and lesbian “stimuli,” and while both the homophobic and non-homophobic men became aroused during the straight and lesbian material, only the antigay men were aroused during the gay imagery.
“Homophobia is apparently associated with homosexual arousal that the homophobic individual is either unaware of or denies,” the abstract of that...
Is NBC Sports Homophobic?
NBC Sports seems to have a problem treating gay athletes, and the gay parents of athletes, with the same respect and visibility it shows to their heterosexual counterparts.
They failed to identify Tom Daley‘s financé Dustin Lance Black when showing he and Daley’s mother in the crowd, dressed in matching “Team Daley” shirts.
Black, an Academy Award winning screenwriter, is famous in his own right. Mentioning the family members and partners of athletes while showing them cheering in the stands is typically a...

“Let’s hope they don’t go on to two blokes sat next to each other,” Hand said, after encouraging straight couples to kiss.
The BBC has issued an apology,...
