Food Bank hero Charandeep Singh and river lifesaver George Parsonage are the toast of Glasgow after winning Pride of Scotland Awards
George Parsonage are the Pride of Scotland.Both men have been honoured with a Special Recognition Award in our People’s Oscars for their selfless dedication to helping others in their time of need.In his 40 years as leader of the Glasgow Humane Society, George rescued more than 1500 people from the River Clyde, while Charandeep, along with his army of volunteers provided meals to 100,000 families during lockdown.Nicola Sturgeon has hailed Charandeep Singh, who is the driving force behind The Sikh Food Bank, a “shining example” of all that is good about Scotland.The First Minister said: “ I just wanted to say congratulations and very well done on this Award.
