Troye Sivan and Orville Peck might be capturing our hearts these days as their chart-topping hits represent the latest wave of LGBTQ+ artists making a name for themselves in the music industry, they stand on the shoulders of previous generations who often found themselves playing in a minor key when it came to being out and open.
