Maren Morris issued an apology to contestants on RuPaul's Drag Race for the manner in which country music has treated the LGBTQ+ community. Morris, 32, an acclaimed country singer and outspoken supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, fought back tears as she thanked contestants for making her feel like a 'brave voice' in her genre.'Coming from country music and it's relationship with LGBTQ+ members, I just want to say I'm sorry and I love you guys for making me feel like a brave voice in country music,' Maren told contestants as she spoke with them after the episode on Untucked. Maren, who was guest hosting the episode, added. Maren was praised as an 'ally' by the contestants as they thanked her for her kind words. That made me feel amazing!' one touched contestant gushed.
