homophobic attack outside a city centre Tesco. Aodhán Benson, 24, feared for his life after he was targeted by a group of men in a random assault in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police were called around 12.25am on Saturday morning and took the graduate to hospital with a busted lip, swollen nose and a cut above his eye.
The graduate says he was was sitting with a group of friends when a man approached them on Bold Street in LiverpoolAodhán, who studied for a teaching qualification with Spanish and French, claims the man took issue with him calling him 'love' and called him homophobic slurs.
He told the Echo : "He went, 'Love, why would you say 'love'? Only f*****s would say love'. And I was like, 'Well I am a f*****'.
