Sasha Regan’s all-male production lights up the stage of London’s Palace Theatre for a limited West End run. This delightfully camp reworking of Gilbert and Sullivan’s classic operetta premiered back in the summer of 2009 at the Union Theatre.
Since then, it has been revived at numerous theatres across the UK and has also enjoyed an Australian tour. The successful show has subsequently spawned a series of other all-male Gilbert and Sullivan shows including HMS Pinafore and The Mikado, and it’s not hard to see why – it’s a concept which really works.
