Florida prosecutor Andrew Warren has sued Governor Ron DeSantis after he was suspended for voicing support for trans and abortion rights.
Earlier this month, Warren was removed from his position as the state attorney of Hillsborough county after he pledged not to enforce Florida’s harmful bans on abortion and gender-affirming care for trans youth.
During a press conference on 4 August, DeSantis claimed that the two-time elected official was following a “woke agenda.” “To take a position that you have veto powers over the laws of the state is untenable,” he added.
However after nearly two weeks since his unceremonious suspension, Warren retaliated against the conservative governor with a lawsuit.
