A new transgender advisory council formed by Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis includes nine members, but none from a San Francisco-based group.
Kounalakis' office announced the new council September 12, describing it as the first of its kind in the nation. The council will "advise the Lt.
Governor and create a forum to discuss issues affecting the transgender community," according to a news release.
