A mom in England has taken her former school employer to an employment tribunal. Kristie Higgs, 44, was sacked in April last year after she took to social media to complain about children being taught about LGBTI inclusivity.
She believes it was her Christian duty to ‘defend the truth,’ and wants £56,000 in damages ($71,000/€61,000) Higgs was a school administrator at Farmor’s School in Fairford, Gloucestershire.
One of her children attends a local Church of England primary school. His school was looking at introducing the ‘No Outsiders’ program.
This is a series of lessons that teach about inclusivity, diversity and relationships, including the fact some people are gay and trans.
