‘SNL’ mocks Shawn Mendes’ sexuality during bit about celebrity election endorsements
“Weekend Update” segment, Heidi Gardner impersonated Reba McEntire as she joined Colin Jost at the table, and avoided naming which candidate she’s supporting. “Well ain’t that what everybody wants to know? Who’s Bad Bunny endorsing? Who’s Reba voting for?” Gardner, 41, said. “Well here’s the thing: call me Shawn Mendes, cause I’m still figuring it out,” the comedian added, referring to Mendes’ recent comments about the speculation over his sexuality.Jost, 42, asked Gardner’s McEntire about being “undecided” and pointed out that the election is next week.“Well see, I come from a little town called McAlester, Oklahoma, and we don’t make up our minds quickly,” Gardner responded.
